Who can leave a review on Staycation?
Only customers who have booked through Staycation can leave a review.
When can reviews be submitted and published?
Guests can leave a review once their stay is over, after the check-out time indicated by the hotel. Reviews are published within 20 minutes of being sent by the author.
Is there any compensation for reviews?
There is no compensation for posting a review.
Review sorting
Reviews are listed in chronological order according to the date on which the stay was made.
What is the maximum time limit for publishing and keeping a review?
There is no maximum time limit for the writing and keeping of a review. Publication takes place automatically after receiving the review written by the customer, after their check-out time.
It is still possible to request the modification or deletion of a review (see the following two sections).
Modifying a review
To encourage the authenticity and impartiality of reviews, it is not possible to modify a review yourself after it has been published. However, you can request that a review you have written be modified if it no longer reflects your actual experience by contacting hello@staycation.co.
Deleting a review
You cannot delete a review yourself, but you can request that it be deleted if it no longer reflects your actual experience by contacting hello@staycation.co.
Moderation of reviews
Staycation does not moderate reviews before they are published. However, reviews must be transparent and honest. They may be moderated (modified or deleted) after publication in the following cases:
- The review includes private or confidential information, or discriminatory, racist, insulting, violent or threatening comments.
- The review does not reflect the experience of its author. For example, it does not contain relevant information that would help other consumers decide to book accommodation or that would help hotels improve the way they welcome travellers in an informed manner.
- The review is not impartial. For example, the traveller may have been encouraged to leave a positive review in exchange for a free or discounted stay, or there may be evidence to suggest that the booking was made for the sole purpose of inflating the overall rating of an experience.
Contacting the consumer who wrote the review
Only the first name used by the user on their Staycation account is mentioned on the review, as well as the date of publication. The hotel cannot therefore identify or contact the consumer directly on the Staycation platform.
