Who can leave a review on Staycation?
Only customers who have made a reservation through Staycation can leave a review.
When can reviews be submitted and published?
Customers can leave a review once their stay is completed, after the check-out time indicated by the hotel. Reviews are published within 20 minutes of submission by the author.
Is there compensation for reviews?
There is no compensation in exchange for submitting reviews.
Review ordering
Reviews are sorted chronologically based on the date the stay was completed.
What is the maximum publication and retention period for a review?
There is no maximum deadline for writing and retaining a review. Publication occurs automatically after receiving the review written by the customer, after their check-out time from the hotel.
However, it is still possible to request the modification or deletion of a review (see the following two sections).
Review modification
To encourage authenticity and impartiality of reviews, it is not possible to modify a review yourself after publication. However, it is still possible to request the modification of a review you have written if it no longer reflects your real experience by contacting hello@staycation.co.
Review deletion
It is not possible to delete a review yourself, but it is possible to request its deletion if it no longer reflects your real experience by contacting hello@staycation.co.
Review moderation
Staycation does not moderate reviews before publication. However, reviews must be transparent and honest. They may be moderated (modified or deleted) after publication in the following cases:
- The review includes private or confidential information, discriminatory, racist, insulting, violent, or threatening remarks.
- The review does not reflect the author's actual experience. For example, it does not contain relevant information that would help other consumers decide to book accommodation or help hotels improve their way of welcoming travelers in an informed manner.
- The review is not impartial. For example, the traveler was encouraged to leave a positive comment in exchange for a free or discounted stay, or some elements suggest that the reservation was made solely to inflate the overall evaluation of an experience.
Contacting the consumer author of the review
Only the first name used by the user on their Staycation account is mentioned on the review, along with the publication date. The hotel cannot therefore identify or contact the consumer directly on the Staycation platform.
